Scholarship Amount for Ireland Government Scholarships
Ireland Government Scholarship recipients receive a stipend of €10,000 for one year of study. The scholarship allowance will be paid to the successful student’s host institution of higher education in two installments of €5,000 each. After that, the higher education institution (HEI) will set up a system for transferring the funds to the scholarship recipient.
Tuition and other registration fees at the institution of higher learning are also fully waived. This is the bare minimum of matching funding that universities must provide to the scholarship programme.
Eligibility Criteria for Ireland Government Scholarships
The Government of Ireland will award Ireland Government Scholarships to high-achieving students from eligible countries to study full-time in Ireland for a year. To be eligible for a GOI-IES scholarship, the candidate must have lived continuously outside of the EU/EEA/United Kingdom/Switzerland region for at least three of the previous five years.
It is important to note that Ireland Government scholarships will only be granted for programmes that lead to a higher education award that is included in the National Qualification Framework (NQF) at Levels 8 to 10, which was developed by various organisations and 28 institutions in Ireland.

Applicants must be citizens of a country that is not a member of the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. Despite the fact that Switzerland is not a member of the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA). A Swiss national, on the other hand, has the same residency rights as a citizen of the EU/EEA. Although the United Kingdom is no longer a member of the EU/EEA as of January 31, 2020, it is still not eligible for the scholarship programme.
Applicants with a spotless record will be prioritised. Those with a criminal record will be removed from the list of qualified applicants, as this scholarship programme has strict criteria for selecting scholars to study at Ireland’s prestigious universities.

How do I apply to Government of Ireland – International Education Scholarships?
Ireland Government Scholarship Applicants must apply to an approved Higher Education Institution for admission to a suitable Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D programme (HEI). After selecting a course, you should proceed to their official online application portal to complete the application. To access the online application portal, the applicant should use the most recent version of the internet browser. It is not required, but it is recommended, to use the application on a computer rather than a mobile phone to access the online application portal.
You must provide accurate information on the online application portal. The information you provided on your online application portal should be able to be corroborated by your supporting documents. You should carefully review your information to ensure a smooth application process. The applicant must be able to produce the original or certified true copy of the following documents for identity verification: a passport and one identification card, a transcript of record and diploma from a bachelor’s or master’s degree, a birth certificate, and other supporting documents.
Applicants for Ireland Government Scholarships are expected to have a conditional or final offer of admission to the HEI at the time of application and will be asked to present a copy of the same. If an applicant receives more than one course offer, he or she may submit separate applications for each one. Final offers are subject to acceptance by the relevant HEI. Applicants should contact the relevant institution directly before applying to the HEA.
Upload two references using only the online application portal. Other methods will not be tolerated. The applicant must decide which references will best support his or her application. Make payment for the application fee. Paying the application fee does not guarantee that you will be accepted scholarship but the applicant still has to pay for his or her application to go through the process.
During the interview, applicants will be asked to demonstrate how being a GOI-IES Scholar will benefit them (professionally and personally), the country of Ireland, and their home country. During the interview, speak English fluently. Because the course is taught in English, the applicant must be fluent in the language in order to learn effectively in Ireland.
Applicants should explain how they intend to continue their studies in Ireland after completing their project/studies. To improve their academic/cultural exchange experience and raise awareness of the GOI-IES initiative. They should also explain how they intend to publicise their ties to Ireland both during and after their time as Scholars.
