The Google News Student Fellowship Program 2022 is now accepting applications. This fellowship programme is designed to help the next generation of European journalists. Students in high school and recent graduates are eligible to work in the European newsroom.
For eight weeks, the students will be able to work in any newsroom around the world thanks to this international fellowship. Students will be chosen by the newsrooms based on their criteria. Fellows are expected to conduct research and write stories for the projects. Students can either contribute to one of the newsroom’s innovative ongoing projects.

Application Process For Google News Student Fellowship Program
- Interested candidates are requested to start submitting their application before March 15, 2022 (23:59 CET).
- Students will be selected by May. All candidates will receive a mail informing them about the selection or rejection.
- There will be an online boot camp in early June by the EJC that will train the students for the upcoming fellowship.
- Students will then join their respective newsrooms in June for 8 weeks.
- Some fellowship may extend to autumn depending upon the decision of the newsroom and EJC.
