1. Students apply only for one or two scholarship programs at a time and hope for the best. However, many scholarships should be applied for at a time so that chances of being awarded one are increased.
2. Filling out the applications in a generic way and not following the particular instructions stated can only result in failure.
3. Sending incomplete applications. Never leave blanks on the application and even if the section doesn’t apply to you, mention it in the space provided.
4. Unclear and illegible applications are sure to be rejected by the review committee. Type in the information if possible, or fill it in a neat legible form. Make sure that your application stands out from the rest and is readily picked up from a lot.
5. Take care of the grammatical errors in your application. Have a proof reading done, if possible.
6. Ensure that you fill and dispatch the application and necessary enclosures well within the time limit provided.
7. Protect yourselves from getting trapped by scams.
